Senior Living Council

As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Fairport/Perinton Senior Living Council, Inc. has been providing services to those who are age 60 or better or disabled for over 30 years.  In 1984, a group of concerned citizens came together around a common goal asking, “How can we best help our community’s senior citizens?”.  They called themselves the “Quality of Life Committee” and, with the support and sponsorship of the Village of Fairport, the Town of Perinton and Perinton Churches Housing, Inc., they incorporated as the Fairport/Perinton Senior Living Council, Inc.(SLC) in 1987.  In 1988, SLC was granted charitable status as a 501(c)(3) organization.  The all-volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from each of the three sponsors. They appoint and then elect one representative from each to the Board.  The Board then nominates and elects at large members to sit on the Board.
